ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the temporal structure of worldview music videos and explore the potential of transmedia storytelling as a new art form. Although worldview music videos are a new phenomenon, few attempts have been made to take an aesthetic approaches to uncover their structural meaning. Therefore, this study examines the characteristics of worldview music videos and examines whether the structure itself can be conceptualized as a network image with a reversible and nonlinear temporality. To this end, using Gilles Deleuze’s concept of time-image, we will examine the temporal structure of the concept of “network-image,” a new concept of art that emphasizes the important and active role of the audience. This study proposes that, as a new art form that has emerged in the current media environment based on the changed reception patterns of the majority of audiences after time-image, further in-depth reflection on complex and overlapping time is required.
